Copra is essentially dried coconut meat. Copra is used to make refined coconut oil, cold pressed coconut oil and even most raw coconut oils.
Now at first, dried coconut meat may not sound all that bad. That is until you learn how it’s made.
The coconut meat is usually dried in ovens at temperatures over 80Ëšc or left out in the fields to dry under the sun where the copra can easily mould. Then the copra can sit around for days before it is sent off to the factories to extract the coconut oil. In fact, the copra used for making coconut oil isn’t even edible.
This processing can easily kill off all the nutrients. It’s also what creates that strong coconutty flavour that you won’t find in fresh coconuts.
At CoccoMio, we don’t use copra to make our Fresh Centrifuged Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Instead, we wet-mill fresh raw coconut meat straight from the tree. Preserving the nutrients and generating 4x more antioxidants than regular cold pressed coconut oil. We capture the fresh mild taste and light aroma of freshly harvest coconuts.
CoccoMio, we’re just nuts about coconut and only the best will do!
